Why take up the course?

Thinking about working as a Massage Therapist, or do you simply enjoy massage and want to explore? Then join Natalie and friends at Casa do Ceo, Praia do Rosa, Brazil to grasp the principles of massage and enjoy a once in a life time holiday at the same time! With plenty of time to lounge around on paradise beaches, take part in a vast array of outdoor activities and receive plenty of massage! The perfect opportunity for anyone deciding, or about to embark on a more complete, formal massage training.

Relaxing bodywork techniques will be the focus, with a practical hands-on approach. The academic aspects of massage such as anatomy, physiology and pathology will be touched upon but there will be no emphasis; we prefer students to immerse themselves in actually doing the massage to begin with, leaving them to decide on further study.

Don’t miss the chance to study the art of massage in the most wonderful set up, where you can relax easily and focus on valuable studies! No prior knowledge of massage is required so the course is well suited to beginners. A certificate of achievement is given to all those completing the course successfully, at the discretion of Course Leader.

Natalie Nardi is the founder of Praia do Rosa Yoga Brasil, a certified Yoga Instructor, Massage Therapist and Business Graduate. She has trained, given courses and worked with massage around the world for over 15 years. Contact with massage started as a small child at home with family, where it was used regularly as one of the main tools to avoid conventional medicine. Natalie is known for her passion, intuition and dedication to both her clients and students. She honours the body as a complete whole, balancing not just the physical aspect but also that of the mind and soul. Each client is treated as a unique individual represented in that moment in time, no one treatment is ever the same. Being a trained yoga instructor has of course brought an extra intelligence to her therapy work. Natalie has great pride and happiness to be able to share this wonderful art with others and looks forward to welcoming you!

Course structure:

  • 30 hours of compulsory tuition spread over one week: 8 sessions in total, each lasting approximately 4 hours. Including a session for students to receive a massage from one of the tutors, with discussion time.
  • A considerable amount of home-study will be essential during the week, covering both practical and written assignments. The internet is required as a research tool, unless the student has access to relevant reading material or other sources. Another important source will be interacting with professionals already working in the field, along with an abundance of willing friends and good organisation with your colleagues to manage plenty of practice sessions.
  • Note taking and questioning will be encouraged during sessions to make the course more complete – it is impossible to learn the entire art of massage in a week but we can certainly take a big step!
  • Journaling is encouraged to help the student remember and share personal experiences, inspirational moments, along with comments from those massaged, including any experiences where students receive a massage or other therapy
  • The final sessions include supervised massage work, enabling students to massage under real conditions, gain valuable feedback and detailed one to one guidance:

1st session – To massage a fellow student (tutor observing); following feedback from the student and tutor, then on to massage one of the tutors to receive final feedback.

2nd session –  Here we remember the responsibility we have to our fellow students, to be present, not only in the sessions where you give your massages, but also where you receive and feedback!
